In 2023, Mark Cerrone, Inc. provided water and sewer rehabilitation services at Scajaquada Creek and Black Rock Canal in Buffalo, New York. This project was part of the Buffalo Sewer Authority’s Smart Sewer initiative. The work involved installing smart controls to divert or detain wastewater and stormwater flows within the collection system. Additionally, structural repairs were made to the Bailey at Minnesota sewer chamber to prevent unwanted drainage of sewage. The project aimed to reduce nutrient flow into the canal and creek during storm events, improving water quality and preventing combined sewer overflow.
