In 2023, Mark Cerrone, Inc. completed a significant shoreline restoration project at the DL&W Rail Station in Buffalo, New York. This project was initiated after a section of the shoreline adjacent to the station collapsed into the Buffalo River in 2022. The restoration involved removing temporary stabilization materials and demolishing various elements of the original shoreline. Mark Cerrone, Inc. constructed new coffer cells and sheet-pile bulkheads to reinforce the shoreline. The project also included restoring the parking lot area with asphalt pavement, drainage structures, and electrical conduits, as well as installing an 8-foot high chain link security fence and a decorative River Edge Railing. These efforts aimed to enhance the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the shoreline, ensuring long-term stability and safety for the area. The project showcased Mark Cerrone, Inc.’s expertise in handling complex construction tasks and contributed to the revitalization of the DL&W Rail Station’s waterfront.
