Total Project Value: $22.8 M
Mark Cerrone Inc. is rehabilitating the DL&W seawall along the Buffalo River for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA), adjacent to the DL&W rail station and the Authority’s Yards & Shop facility. The contract stabilizes and reconstructs approximately 1,250 linear feet of deteriorated seawall – the remaining shoreline beyond the emergency section Mark Cerrone Inc. rebuilt in 2023 after a portion of the bank collapsed into the river in 2022. This marine work reinforces the river’s edge to halt ongoing erosion and restore the structural integrity of the shoreline that supports the DL&W facility and the adjacent Metro Rail station. The project protects critical transit infrastructure along the Buffalo River while advancing the broader restoration and redevelopment of the historic DL&W terminal and its waterfront.
