In 2023, Mark Cerrone, Inc. began site preparation at the Seaway FUSRAP site in Tonawanda, New York. This project, awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, involves installing approximately 23 acres of engineered non-permeable caps to limit exposure to contaminated materials. The work includes grading access roads, conducting surface water calculations, stormwater management, gas monitoring, and erosion control. Additionally, the project involves slope stability analysis, venting system design, and planting vegetative soils to prevent erosion. These efforts aim to protect human health and the environment by safely containing contaminants.
