In 2004, Mark Cerrone was contracted to complete a multi-phase Landfill/Remediation Project. Before taking on the role of President of Mark Cerrone, Inc., George Churakos and his team took on one of their first multi-million dollar projects. The first phase entailed installing a groundwater treatment system that prevented harmful waste and leachate from releasing outside of the landfill. The second part of the project was to to install caps (final covers) over closed portions of the landfill. These caps are designed to control gas emissions, prevent water infiltration, to protect the environment.
