The Demolition of the Former NYSDOT Lockport Maintenance Residency project involved asbestos abatement, building demolition, and soil removal. The project included asbestos abatement on floors 1, the front offices, the mezzanine, and the roof level; building demolition; abatement and demolition of the Office Trailer and Storage Pod; proper closure of abandoned fuel USTs and oil/water separator; and excavation, removal, and disposal of approximately 50,000 tons of petroleum-impacted soil. Contact waters from soil removal were collected, filtered, and stored in Frac tanks. This equipment was staged in the decon area. All non-hazardous contact water was temporarily stored until tested and discharged to the sewer, pending sampling results.
