The Collins Correctional Facility project involved decommissioning a 6-mile water supply infrastructure, including pumping stations, supply lines, and two settling lagoons with over one million gallons of water and sediment. To minimize environmental disturbance, motorized equipment use was limited. High iron content required dewatering lagoons with Geo-tubes and Frac Tanks, discharging clean water into Clear Creek. Sediment was sampled and approved for landfill disposal, and debris was removed. Demolition included concrete walkways/piers, with clean concrete reused for backfill. Erosion and sediment controls were maintained throughout. After asbestos and lead abatement, phased demolition of the Pump House and Accelerator Building was conducted, using flowable fill to prevent collapse. Demolition proceeded to the top of the existing grade after fill curing.
