Mark Cerrone Inc. has been engaged to reconstruct the ‘Middle Main’ corridor of Main Street in Buffalo – a complete rebuild of roughly 2.5 miles of roadway extending from Goodell Street north to Kensington Avenue. As prime contractor for the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works, Mark Cerrone Inc. is performing full-depth reconstruction of the street along with new curbs, sidewalks, and ADA-compliant curb ramps, new crosswalks, and final paving. The rebuilt corridor is reconfigured to carry one travel lane in each direction with on-street parking, a two-way center left-turn lane, and a dedicated one-way cycle track on each side. At nearly $70 million, the Middle Main project – funded through federal, state, and local sources – modernizes one of Buffalo’s principal corridors past Canisius University into a complete street serving drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.
