The renovation of the DL&W Station focuses on three key development areas designed to enhance connectivity and community engagement. Area 1 transforms the exterior with a new outdoor deck featuring modern lighting and a historical image wall celebrating the station’s heritage. To improve accessibility, Area 4 introduces a pedestrian walkway bridge, providing a direct, climate-controlled link between the station’s first floor and the KeyBank Center.

Supporting these functional upgrades, Area 5 includes a dedicated freight elevator building to facilitate vendor access—including food trucks—to the elevated deck. These strategic improvements not only streamline passenger flow to the arena but also establish a versatile venue for future public events. By blending historical preservation with modern infrastructure, the project revitalizes the station as a premier destination for commuters and event-goers alike.
