JOB SUMMARY
Supply/Support Worker delivers materials, equipment, and supplies to jobsites. Work to clean and maintain company storage yards and warehouses. Works to support various field operations at the direction of the Warehouse/Supply Manager and the General Superintendent.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads, transports and delivers supplies, tools and other materials from yards, warehouse or vendor locations to jobsites.
- Organizes supplies and materials in warehouse and yards.
- Receives all stocked materials and tools and inventories.
- Pulls materials and tools for jobs as directed.
- Picks up materials, supplies and tools from vendors as necessary.
- Performs inventory counts for supervisors.
- Performs building and office maintenance tasks as directed.
- Maintains the warehouse and yards in a clean and orderly manner.
- Assists the general superintendent in various field operations as directed.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Operate or move heavy equipment in yard or to move as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Needs knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures such as highways and roads. Must be highly organized and able to multi-task in a face-paced environment. Must have the ability to communicate tactfully and courteously with field personnel and vendors. Must have a clean NYS Driver’s License. General knowledge of forklift and small heavy equipment operation. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Must be able to take a teamwork approach to the job, offering to help others when need and considering larger organization or team goals rather than individual concerns. Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol examination. Must perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting at least 40 pounds is required, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Must have OSHA 10 hour construction safety training (minimum requirement).
