Project Manager: Jeffery Salvatore

Project Value: $4.1 M

Between 2009-20011, Mark Cerrone was contracted by the City of Tonawanda to preform remediation work at the old Spaulding Fibre Plant. The plant was heavily operated throughout most of the 20th century, creating plastics, composite laminates (Spauldite) which are resins used for various manufacturing purposes. During the Early 1990s, the site ceased all manufacturing operations, leaving behind contaminated materials to be treated and expelled. Mark Cerrone’s contracted work included the excavation of the contaminated soils and backfilling the areas with clean soil. To finish the work off, these excavated and backfilled areas were capped to prevent any trace of contaminated toxins from releasing into usable soills and water. All of the work was done to ensure all safety regulations and environmental codes were met.
