The African American Veterans Monument located next to the Buffalo & Erie County Naval and Military Park, will honor and memorialize African American Veterans throughout the history of the US.
The project depict the 12 conflicts (wars) that the USA has been involved in throughout its history with 12 concrete pillars and pavers. The placement of the pillars depicts the location of the conflict on a world map. The pavers represent dog tags and will be engraved with the names of those who served in the armed forces. The interpretive signs show each war, facts about each war and the significance African Americans played in it.
Mark Cerrone, Inc. is providing site grading, concrete flatwork, lighting and landscaping.
