Featured Project: 500 & 600 Block Main St. - & NFTA light rail system

Mark Cerrone was hired by the City of Buffalo to bring vehicular transportation back to Main Street’s 600 Block which is about 800 feet long and runs from Chippewa to Tupper. To rebuild the street, MCI will repave the vehicle portion of the street with asphalt. While bringing back the roads we are also putting in a new track bed and rail for the NFTA’s trolley system. We will place a rubber rail boot along the track to prevent or lessen vibrations. The project is estimated to cost about $6 million. The greatest challenge with the Main Street project is that the trolley system will continue to be active during construction. After completing approximately 60 percent of the stretch, MCI won the bid for the 500 block of Main Street – which is valued at close to $15 million.
